Negizhi Maasilla Tamilnadu – A Solidarity Support Campaign
The students at SRM Public School took the NGTM pledge for a plastic free Tamil Nadu or Negizhi Maasilla Tamilnadu on October 29, 2024 . The students spoke about the magnitude of the problems caused due to the use of one time use plastic and the urgency of taking collective action. Mr AK Fatah, the Chief Coordinator and Director- NGTM Board addressed the students about their role as change makers and their responsibility as human beings to preserve mother Earth. The event was presided over by Sri M Subramanian, the Correspondent of the school. He also spoke about the enormity of the problem and being sensitive to the dangers of disposing plastic, carelessly. The Organising Head, Dr K R Maalathi, who is also the advisor, of SRM Public School, was felicitated as the Brand Ambassador of NGTM , by the Chief Guest.The oath of NGTM was administered by Dr K R Maalathi, who spoke about practicing the 3 ‘R’s of conservation, as the immediate need of the hour. She also urged the students to come out with innovative ideas to solve the problems created by plastics, especially micro plastics.

Today, 25.10.2024, became a memorable day as SRMPians earnestly lent their hands to many organisations with underprivileged children and senior citizens, by sending their love packed in their humble offerings.
As the students, staff and Parents came forward in all bounty, with materials like dresses, sweets, savouries, and many other essentials, drenched in their love, they have contributed to light up the lives of many lives this Deepawali.
We hope that this “Joy of giving” lasts a lifetime and lets us continue creating enormous joy by giving more and more.
It also reminded us that we are interconnected in this world. Wishing you all a sparkling Diwali!!!

Diya Painting – Integrating Cultural Arts
Integrating cultural arts into the curriculum can enhance the celebration of festivals, making learning more engaging and meaningful. The students of Grade 2 and 3 involved themselves in “Diya painting” as a part of CCA. which enhanced their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills through the use of brushes and detailing. They also expressed their creativity by decorating them with colourful decorative materials like bhindi, stickers, beads, etc..
