Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration 2024 – KG Happy Tots

At Srmps , we celebrated the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi with great enthusiasm and fervor. The festival, which marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, was observed with traditional rituals and cultural events.

The Ganesh Chaturthi celebration at our school served as a reminder of the importance of wisdom, knowledge, and the removal of obstacles in our lives. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn and connect with Indian culture and traditions.

Students enjoyed making beautiful ganesha idols using clay.

Field Trip to National Fossil Wood Park

On 31.08.2024, the students of Grade 8 embarked on an incredible field trip to the National Fossil Wood Park at Thiruvakkarai! Surrounded by ancient fossilized wood, they uncovered the secrets of prehistoric life and gained a deeper appreciation for Earth’s natural history. They got up close with fossils dating back millions of years, learning about the ancient forests that once thrived in this region. The experience was both educational and inspiring, as students delved into the fascinating world of paleontology.

Blue Day Celebration

Happy tots celebrated ‘Blue Day’ on 30.08.24 Friday with energy and excitement. Students and teachers came dressed in various shades of blue, symbolizing calmness, peace and unity.

Courtyard was decorated with the theme ‘ Sapphire dreamworld ‘ where characters from fairy tales welcomed children. Art and craft activities were organised and children created beautiful blue themed art work. Blue day was not just a celebration of colour but also a reminder of an important message of preserving our environment.

International Story Telling Festival

SRM Public School, organized a spectacular International Storytelling Festival on August 30, 2024. Held at the prestigious TP Ganesan Hall, SRMIST campus, the festival brought together a vibrant community of storytellers from eight different nationalities, each bringing their unique cultural flavors to life through the art of storytelling.
The storytellers captivated the audience with tales told in multiple languages, including French, Russian, English, and Tamil, inviting the young listeners to join in with repeated choruses, creating a dynamic and interactive experience.

Field Trip to SRM Agriculture College and Farm

“Students from grades X, XI, and XII visited the SRM Agriculture College and Farm on 31.8.24 to learn the various aspects of agriculture. During their trip, they:

– Explored places where cattle are reared
– Visited a museum featuring agricultural artifacts
– Observed insect boxes and various tools and equipment used in agriculture
– Gained knowledge about sericulture, horticulture, and mushroom culture
– Learned about crop growth, cultivation, and harvesting

This fun and educational experience helped students understand the importance of farming. The trip concluded with a short audio-visual presentation about the Yeoman service provided by the SRM Agriculture College, offering valuable insights into agriculture and its benefits.”

Field Trip to Vellore Fort and District Science Centre

Learning becomes more interesting when Students are able to explore places and visit places of historical importance. Students of grade IX visited the Vellore Fort and District Science Centre at Vellore on 31. 8.2024. They witnessed the 3 D shows and various scientific developments in the science centre. The Fort at Vellore gave them a vibe of the era of Tipu Sultan. They learnt about moats, the various ways in which such structures were built and their historical importance. The students returned from the fort with a heavy heart. It was a lovely experience.
