01. What curriculum does the school offer?

The school offers CBSE curriculum.

02. Is your school recognized by CBSE or is it affiliated to CBSE?

We are in the process of getting affiliated to the CBSE board. For any new school to get the affiliation it takes minimum one year.

03. What are the school timings?

From 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM for standards UKG to VIII.  For classes Pre-KG & LKG between 9:00 AM and 12:00 Noon.

04. When is the school likely to commence?

The school opens 1st week of April 2018 for Primary and 1st week of June 2018 for KG.

05. Do you have the necessary approval to run the school?

As per the usual process for a new school to be set-up, applications for necessary approvals from both the State Govt. and CBSE shall be made.

06. What are the age criteria for classes, Pre KG, KG and Class 1?

For Pre KG: 2.5 years as on 30th June of the relevant year

For KG1: 3.5 years as on 30th June of the relevant year.

For KG2: 4.5 years as on 30th June of the relevant year.

For Class 1: 5+ years as on 30th of June of the relevant year.

07. Will the school encourage inter-house and inter-school competitions?

SRM facilitates holistic development. Inter-house, Inter-school and International level competitions will focus on bringing out the potential of every child.

08. How are your teachers selected?

Teachers are pillars of our institution; Hence we have taken utmost care in the selection of teachers.

09. Will the school take students for educational excursions or trips?

Yes. Excursions and educational trips are a part of the active learning process in SRM. These will be organised on a regular basis. Field trips are an integral part of learning at SRM.

10. Will the school offer coaching for competitive examinations?

School provides 100 hours of integrated coaching for Engineering / Medical from 6 to 8 std.

11. What sports facilities will the school provide?

With a firm focus on holistic education, sports are an integral part of the curriculum at SRM, including special academies,Football,Hockey,Cricket,Athletics. Age appropriate physical activities will be provided to all students.

12. How often will there be parent teacher meetings?

There will be a Parent-Teacher meeting once in every term while reviewing the performance reports. However, whenever needed, parents can email or make an appointment by phone to schedule a one to one meeting with the concerned teacher.

13. Does the school have a child counsellor? Does it cater to children with special needs?

Yes, an in-house behavioural counsellor is available for addressing minor learning and behavioural needs.

14. Are there regular workshops and training for teachers?

All teachers will be provided with a high standard of training every year. Staff development programmes and workshops will be conducted.

15. Will the school celebrate all festivals?

SRM encourages students to understand and appreciate all cultures through regular activities and celebrations. All occasions of celebration are given equal importance without any discrimination.

16. What first aid will you provide in the school in case of any casualty?

School has an infirmary with a trained nurse who shall attend to all minor injuries and provide first-aid. For any emergencies, the student will be taken to the nearest hospital (SRM Hospital at Kattankalathur) and parents will be informed simultaneously.

17. Do we have to submit the medical history record of the student?

Upon admission, every parent must complete and submit a duly filled in medical form available with the school office.

18. Do you provide transport for the children? Is bus fees included in the tuition fee?

Yes, the School provides transport, as an option. The annual bus fees (depending on the Residence zone) need to be paid in addition to the term fees, along with the term fees or once at the beginning of the academic year. Annual Bus Fees for different residence zones is available at the School Office.

19. Is food being provided to the children? Is the cost of the food part of the school fee?

The school has a “Meal Plan”, where children are provided healthy nutritious lunch. This facility is Optional upon additional payment and not part of the fee structure.

20. Is it a bag-less school? Will the children carry lots of books (heavy)?

No. Children need to carry minimum number of books to the school as per the time table for the day. Some of the workbooks and notebooks of children shall be kept in the classroom, which they can carry home for the weekends or for home-based assignments.

21. Will children be given homework?

Home work is an integral part of the middle and senior school curriculum and serves to reinforce what has been taught in class. However, in Primary school curriculum, homework will be very minimal and non-stressful.

22. What are the documents required for admission?

Copy of Birth certificate (Student).

Copy of Transfer certificate (Student).

Colour Passport size photographs (4 pc).

Copy of Aadhaar card (Student).

Copy of EMIS No. from previous school (Student).

Copy of academic or progress report from previous school attended.

Copy of complete Immunization Record/Medical Record of the child.

23. Can you tell me the fee structure?

As a policy, we do not discuss the fee structure over phone/digital media. You are requested to visit the school facilities and interact with the Admissions Office.

24. Can I pay the fees in instalments?

Term Fees can be paid three times in one academic year.

25. Are the uniform fees included in the school fees or is it charged separately?

  • The school fees comprises of the tuition fees.
  • Uniform needs to be purchased when the counters open in the school premises which would be intimated at a later date. Three sets of regular
    uniform and one set of sports uniform will have to be purchased.
  • Shoes and socks will have to be purchased from the market.

26. Does the fees include the cost of Textbooks & Notebooks?

No.

27. Does the school provide any discount for siblings?

Yes, at management discretion.

28. What is the teacher-student ratio in the class?

The ratio is 1:35. This number has been arrived at to ensure maximum student-teacher interaction.
